Anne has a wonderful way of making Maths learning colourful and fun, rather than frightening and onerous. She specialises in GCSE and iGCSE and has taught A-level and Further Maths for over 20 years, including preparation for the Oxford and Cambridge University exams. Many of her students went on to Russell Group universities, some going on to study Maths, especially further maths students.

She has a knack of breaking down any tricky elements and making them accessible for her students, instilling confidence where needed but ultimately aiming to stretch her students to their fullest potential.

Anne is a highly qualified mathematician who has worked with tutees preparing primarily for A-Level and GCSE exams but also for entrance examinations, including Common Entrance 11+ and 13+ to major public schools. Indeed, Anne has created and marked numerous maths entrance exam papers for 11+ and 13+.

Anne has also worked with children not necessarily focusing on exams but for whom Maths is a struggle and who need that extra input to fulfil their potential. She has a calm, reassuring manner and an understanding that mathematical principles, as well as fostering an enjoyment of mathematics, are key to success.

Here he taught maths from years 4 to 8, preparing pupils of all abilities to top public schools (Westonbirt, Radley and Marlborough College) and for a number of competitive grammar schools as well. Next was a move onto the city of Bath and a six year period at Monkton Prep School. As a maths specialist, he was tasked with ensuring the children were prepared for success to senior schools (Monkton, Prior Park, Canford, Marlborough, St. Mary’s Calne and King Edwards VI). His recent stint on the south coast at, Walhampton Prep, a well renowned prep school has given him a further 7 years of excellent maths teaching to years 5 through to 8. During this time, he has successfully prepared pupils for 11+, 13+ and Scholarship to some of the top boarding and day schools in the UK.

Richard is well versed with transition from prep school to senior school. He has been the central point of contact in his current school for advising on senior school choices. His specialism is Chemistry, which he happily teaches through to A-Level and, after 20 years in the Chemicals industry prior to teaching, he knows what he is talking about!

He has been Head of Science at secondary level and successfully tutored students privately from leading public schools, including Latymer and Queen Elizabeth for Boys in North London.

Jane is a highly experienced teacher and an excellent communicator. She has worked at management level as well as in the classroom both in the UK, including St Paul’s Girls, and in British international schools. Her experience covers Reception all the way through to Year 13 but she specialises in the 11+ Common Entrance exams (100% success) and, more recently, the GL online assessments.

She has 20 years experience preparing for examinations for entry to UK prep and secondary schools, as well as schools in the US and the highly competitive international independent schools in the Middle East. She is an expert in eLearning and online tuition having developed her school's eLearning strategy over the past few years.

A recent ISI inspection report mentioned her impact across the school and was particularly impressed by the confidence and independence of the children in terms of finding their own solutions to tasks and by the level of higher-order thinking that they employed. Jane sees the development of these skills as key to exam and general study success.

As well as using past papers and published resources, Jane devises a range of resources to engage pupils and she tailors them to each pupil's needs. She thinks it is important to set tasks into context in order to add another layer of meaning to the work. Jane is adept at breaking down tasks, questions and topics into their component parts and helping pupils to understand their structure. In fact, much work is done in analysing question types and finding both the similarities and differences between papers, believing that, if a child can identify a question type they will more quickly reach an answer.

Jane's last five performance reviews and lesson observations have all been rated 'Excellent' with comments on her attention to detail, diligence and approachability. A senior colleague described her to visitors as an 'inspirational teacher'.

Jane has also been a form tutor over the course of her teaching career, which adds another dimension to teacher pupil relationships. She enjoys developing these relationships and finding out about her pupils aside from their academic progress. Her mixed ability classes include pupils with a wide range of educational needs, and she is accustomed to differentiating in a number of ways: by task, by outcome, assessing for learning and one to one support.

Jane currently works in Kuwait and resides in Wales during the generous international school holidays. The time difference between the UK and Kuwait is just two hours. Her passions are travel, world food, collecting perfume, writing, reading fiction and political biographies, following international politics and movies.
